Main Septic Components

Septic Tank

Baffles or Tees

Baffles help control the flow of wastewater entering and leaving the tank. A damaged outlet baffle can allow solids to escape toward the drain field, which can shorten the life of the system.

Distribution Box

Also called a D-box, this component divides effluent between drain field lines. If the box is damaged, tilted, or clogged, one area of the drain field can be overloaded.

Drain Field
